There are many monasteries, churches, archaeological sites, monuments, castles, museums and so many other places to visit. There are many taverns and restaurants with the Mediterranean atmosphere and the popular Cypriot meze to enjoy. The Cyprus cuisine emphasizes fresh local ingredients, regional herbs and spices, and the light use of natural olive oil, the Cypriot palate is essentially Mediterranean in character.
No matter what season you choose to visit Cyprus, there is so much to do and see. In the summer it is the ideal season for swimming, sunbathing and a whole range of water sports. In the fall it is a great opportunity for inland excursions to villages and vineyards for wine tasting and you could even enjoy the traditional cheese making. In the winter the Troodos Mountains and the ski resorts are perfect. During Spring, the countryside is breathtaking with the beautiful fresh green meadows and flowers in bloom. This is an ideal time for nature hikes.
